21 July: World Dog Day
World Dog Day is an annual celebration dedicated to honoring and recognizing our four-legged friends: dogs. It is celebrated on 21 July each year and aims to promote the importance of caring, protecting and valuing dogs worldwide.
Why is dog day celebrated?
It is not known for sure why this date was chosen to commemorate such an occasion, however, many believe that it is due to the increase of abandonment to dogs during the summer, because in many homes, puppies are given during the holidays and, once they grow up, at six months, people usually get ride of them because they’ve last the charm of a baby.
That’s how, tio celebrate this day, there is no better way tol ove our pets a lot and make sure they are comfortable and receive absolutely all the necessary care to be happy. Amog them, are:

The dog is considered the man’s best friend for several reasons.
- Loyalty: dogs are known for their unconditional loyalty to their owners.
- Companionship: enjoy human company and are willing to participate in joint activities.
- Protection: many breeds of dogs have natural protective instincts.
- Emocional support: dogs have the ability to perceive human emotions and can provide comfort and support in difficult times.
- Physical activity: they need regular exercise, which means their owners should also paarticipate in physical activities.
It is important to note that World Dog Day is not only about celebrating and pampering our own dogs, but also about promoting respect and protection for all dogs, incluiding those in les favourable situations.
